What we collect and what we do with it
What we collect
This website itself collects very little. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, an optional subject, and your message. That is the only personal data this site stores directly.
If you respond to an Aarunya Issue, you do it on an external Google Form linked from that issue's page — not on this website. That response is collected and held by Google Forms, under Google's own privacy policy, not ours. This site never receives or stores your individual answer, name, or contact details from that form. All we ever bring back onto this site is an aggregate count of how many people responded.
Why we collect it
Contact-form messages: so we can read what you sent and reply to you. Aggregate response counts: to establish and demonstrate how many people actually support a specific issue, honestly, before we take it any further.
What we publish
Only the total number of responses an issue has received (e.g. “3,240 respondents so far”). We never publish individual names, email addresses, or answers — and we have no access to the individual entries behind that number in the first place, since they live in Google Forms, not on this site. Nothing submitted through the contact form is ever published.
Purpose limitation
We use a contact-form message only to reply to you and to keep an internal record of what was raised. We will not repurpose it for party membership, fundraising, or any unrelated activity. If we ever want to do something different with it, we will ask you directly and you can say no.
Retention
We keep contact-form messages for as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you and maintain a record, and delete them sooner if you ask us to. We do not control retention for external Google Form submissions — that is governed by the Google account the form runs through, not by us.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of any contact-form message you sent us, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email aarunyaswarajparty@gmail.com and we will act within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason. For data submitted through an external Google Form, your rights are exercised directly with Google, since we do not hold that data ourselves.
Security
Data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security enabled, access restricted to a named allow-list of administrator accounts, and every administrator action logged. We collect the minimum we need, which is itself a security measure.
